College Grove is the farm end of Williamson County — the county's own plan for the community counts about 3,000 people across the 64 square miles of the 37046 ZIP and calls agriculture what it plainly is here: still strong, with pasture and cropland running along Horton Highway and the roads that feed it. College Grove is living two lives at once. The farm life is the one the county plan describes — working ground along Arno-College Grove Road and Bellenfant Road, creek-bottom fields on Overall Creek, mature woods and real slopes on the east side, and the Haley-Jacqueth wildlife ground bordering the Harpeth. That life generates classic reclaim work: fence rows gone to cedar and privet, field edges creeping inward, back pastures the bush hog gave up on.
The other life arrived with the golf courses. The Grove opened in 2012, Troubadour built out on roughly 850 acres of former walking-horse farm, and Falls Grove added 381 homes in eight sections — which means old farm parcels around the village are now some of the most valuable estate ground in the county. Owners on that ground call us for both halves of the job: selective clearing that keeps the hardwoods and views, and site prep where a barn, shop or homesite is going in.
The case for mulching here is practical. Privet resprouts from the stump when it is only cut back — the University of Tennessee's own invasive-plant guidance says so — which is why a chainsaw pass on a fence line buys you one season and a grinding pass buys you several. Mulching takes the stems down and shreds them into a chip layer that smothers regrowth while the grass comes back through.
It also respects working ground. The root mat stays, so creek-bottom fields and sloped edges do not wash; there is no burn pile sitting next to hay storage waiting on a permit and a calm day; and nothing has to be hauled off a back field with soft access. When plans change and the stumps do need to come out — a fence rebuild, a lane, a pad — the same company brings the excavator and the trucks.
