Mid South Mulch runs a landscape supply yard at 430 Lewisburg Pike in Franklin, TN. We sell topsoil, fill dirt, mulch, gravel and stone in bulk for home projects and commercial jobs. Bring a pickup or trailer and we load it, or have the order brought out on our dump trucks. The piles change, so call (615) 599-7550 and ask what is in the yard before you come.
The company started in 1996 mowing grass and landscaping, then added the retail yard. Trucking and site work came next, and the dump trucks and machines on the lot are ours. Homeowners buy here for a garden bed or a path, and builders buy for job sites. Our trucks run from the yard to Franklin and nearby towns, including job sites in Spring Hill.

The yard deals in bulk landscape materials: topsoil, fill dirt, mulch, gravel, stone and landscape rock. Topsoil is the growing layer for lawns and beds, and fill dirt builds up low spots and pads. Mulch covers beds, and gravel and crushed stone go on paths, pads and drives. Our guide to choosing between fill dirt and topsoil explains which dirt does which job.
Our landscape supply serves residential and commercial buyers from the same yard on Lewisburg Pike. Tell us the job when you call, and we will point you to a material that fits it. What sits in the yard changes, so a quick call saves a wasted trip. For a bigger project, we also give free on-site quotes.
Pick it up when the order fits your truck or trailer, and have it delivered when it does not. A pickup load suits a bed refresh or a short garden path. HomeGuide says a 10-wheel dump truck carries 12 to 20 tons of gravel, or around 8 to 10 yards. One delivered load can stand in for a long string of pickup trips.
Delivered orders ride on our own dump trucks, including a tri-axle lettered with the company logo. Our crew can spread a load instead of leaving a pile, and each material has its own page. Dirt orders run through topsoil and fill dirt delivery, and beds get mulch delivered and spread. Stone ships through gravel and stone delivery, with the drop spot set when you call.
Buy enough cubic yards to cover the area at the depth you want: square feet times inches, divided by 324. One cubic yard covers about 324 square feet at 1 inch deep and 162 square feet at 2 inches. At 3 inches a yard covers about 108 square feet, and at 4 inches about 81. A 4 by 20 foot path at 2 inches deep works out to about half a cubic yard.
Supply yards price bulk material by the cubic yard, and one Maury County yard's 2025 list also prices half yards. A half yard is a handy size for a short path or one small bed. HomeGuide's 2026 guide lists bulk pea gravel at $29 to $40 per cubic yard with self-pickup from a local quarry. Price changes with the stone, and our gravel price guide compares the common types.
A cubic yard of gravel weighs about 1.4 tons, which is roughly 2,800 pounds. HomeGuide's guide puts one cubic yard at 1.4 to 1.5 tons of stone. Crushed stone #57 runs a little lighter, at about 1.35 tons. Either way, a full yard of stone is a heavy load for a light truck.
A half yard of gravel comes to about 0.7 tons, or roughly 1,400 pounds. Federal safety rules call for a placard on the driver's door pillar of vehicles rated 10,000 pounds or less. It gives the combined weight of occupants and cargo the vehicle should never exceed. Check that number, and your trailer's weight rating, before you pull in for a load.
