Mid South Mulch runs gravel delivery out of our yard at 430 Lewisburg Pike in Franklin, TN. Loads go out on our own dump trucks: crushed stone, washed stone, pea gravel and river rock. Crushed stone goes under drives and pads, and the rounded stone goes in beds and on paths. You can also pull in with a pickup or a trailer, and we will load you at the yard. The company has worked out of Franklin since 1996, and the trucks and machines are ours. We load, haul, dump and spread with our own dump trucks, excavators, a track loader and compaction equipment. Tell us the material, the yardage and the drop spot, and the driver gets as close as the ground allows. Building or regrading a whole gravel drive is a different job, and that goes to our grading crew.

A delivery is a dump truck load of stone from our yard at 430 Lewisburg Pike in Franklin. We load it, haul it and put it where you point. Tell us the material and the yardage when you call, and tell us the drop spot. If you would rather haul it yourself, we load pickups and trailers at the yard.
Stock changes week to week, so call (615) 599-7550 and ask what is in the yard. Our crew can also spread the load instead of leaving it in a pile. That means a drive top dressed, a shed pad leveled or a garden path filled in. The same trucks carry topsoil and fill dirt by the load and bulk mulch for the beds.
Around here the stone is limestone. Every crushed stone source on TDOT's Region 3 list, which covers Middle Tennessee, is a limestone source. After that it comes down to fines, the stone dust that lets a load pack down. Crusher run is crushed stone with its fines left in, so it packs hard under a drive or pavers.
Washed stone is the opposite: TDOT sizes No. 57 from 1 inch down to the No. 4 sieve. With no fines in it, water drains straight through, which is why it fills drain trenches. FHWA's gravel roads guide says a base gravel with few fines will not form a crust. A driving surface needs 4 to 15 percent fines to bind, so clean stone alone rides loose.
Measure the area in square feet, pick a depth, multiply the two, then divide by 324. One cubic yard covers about 162 square feet at 2 inches, 108 at 3 inches and 81 at 4 inches. Those are loose numbers, and crushed stone packs down, so a base gets ordered a little heavy. A 10 by 10 foot hot tub pad at 4 inches deep works out to about 1.2 cubic yards. Gravel runs about 1.4 tons per cubic yard, so that pad is close to 1.7 tons.
HomeGuide's 2026 gravel guide puts gravel at $10 to $50 per ton, or $15 to $75 per cubic yard. In that guide crusher run runs $24 to $34 per ton and crushed limestone $30 to $38. A Maury County supply yard's published 2025 list shows crusher run at $44 per cubic yard. Those are market numbers, not our price, and the full-drive math lives in our gravel driveway cost guide.
The driver needs a clear run at the spot and firm ground to sit on. Gates, culverts, septic fields, low limbs and overhead lines all change where a loaded truck can go. Soft ground after a wet week is the usual problem, so we look before we back in. When the drop has to sit away from the work, our crew moves it with the track loader.
A drop leaves the stone in one pile, and a spread leaves it raked out and even. On a drive we can top dress a thin layer over what is already down.
